Gong xi fa cai!

Yes, it’s still Chinese New Year! May the Year of Horse brings you great health, prosperity and joy!

It was a pretty simple CNY celebration for me this year because I fell sick on the first day. So, no visiting but just resting in my room. Having ang pows (red packets with money) at the end of the day did help to make me feel a little better though. Lol. The family went for a 3 days 2 nights trip to Ipoh like how we usually do every year but I didn’t follow them this time because I just wanted to rest and to take care of Daisy.

Since the family was travelling to Ipoh, I joined Marc’s family for a reunion dinner and man, authentic hakka dishes for the win! The last time I tasted such dishes was more than 10 years ago, when my grandma was alive and healthy. I had such good appetite that I had 3 bowls of rice! Hope that Marc’s grandma would invite me for dinner again soon! 😀

Watched some tele.
Played some firecrackers.
Collected ang pows.
Blessed.

Love how their family is so sporting. The brothers playing Twister while the mom spins the wheel. Lol. It was quite a sight!

The 3rd day of CNY was a Sunday. What better way to spend it in God’s house. Wore my cheongsam and took a picture with my handsome man. So much swag! 😀

Since church ended earlier than I expected and lunch wasn’t happening until 12pm, I drove to Old Klang road to visit my cousin and her beautiful daughter. I really love her to bits! ❤ She is so cuteeeee omg! The thing about this lil Shuen is that she is always smiling and that brings so much joy and warmth to my heart. She is turning 5 this year! How time flies!

For the very first time, I brought her out without her parents and visited my aunt and uncle (Shuen’s grandparents) in Cheras. I freaked out initially as I was worried I couldn’t handle her alone.

What if she wanted her parents?
What if she wanted to pee in the car?
What if she didn’t sit still and unbuckle her seat belt?
All these thoughts running in my head. Haha..

So, we changed her into a cheongsam and headed to my aunt’s place. Had so much fun talking to this little girl. Missing her already! 😦

Headed out for to shop to get a pair of new shoes for my aunt but couldn’t find any. Even with my aunt, I felt I’ve used 100% of my energy just taking care of this little girl. The moment I came home, I just crashed. Haha. No joke taking care of a kid.

Then again, it’s one of the most rewarding thing because you get to spend it with your loved ones! 🙂 That’s what CNY is all about anyway!

One really awesome thing about CNY is that it lasts for 15 days! 15 days of collecting your ang pows! 🙂 Then again, family and friends have been warning me that next year would probably be my last year collecting them before I tie the knot soon. I’ve no idea how I’m gonna do this in the years to come. Distributing money like I print money for a living! Lol.

Here’s to an awesome celebration, may you be well rested and recharged for the year!
Gong hei gong hei!
